“I Remember”
One of the most interesting things about being
in business for over 100 years is your memories of us. We love to hear the stories of our customers,
employees, and friends. Stories of Seashore vacations, Family Traditions,
Grandparents & Grandchildren, Honeymoons, Dancing 'till dawn on the piers,
and Military service are just a few of the memorable things you've told us
about.
Here
is your opportunity to share your story with all of us who love Salt Water
Taffy, the Boardwalk and "have sand in our shoes".

"In the summer of 1954 I hitchhiked up from Richmond, Virginia for my first break from engineering school (at Virginia Tech).
Somehow I heard that there were jobs to be had at a place called "Fralingers." I ended up as the guy in the window wrapping taffy
at your store on the Boardwalk near, I believe, Kentucky Avenue. Three days a week from 9am to 4pm, and three from 4pm to 11pm….
In case you wonder, after that summer I went on to finish engineering school, earn two law degrees, rise through Government ranks
to the #3 position in NASA, and then spend two decades in management roles in the private sector. Though my sketch in "Who's Who"
never mentions that summer, I still remember it fondly--and indeed bought a few pieces of your taffy at Rehoboth Beach, Delaware
this past weekend." Robert F. A.
"I discovered that you opened a shop in Rehoboth Beach, It was going
back to those years when my family vacationed at Atlantic City. The
highlight of our week at the shore was getting a box of taffy to eat
while we were their and buying a number of boxes to take home. I bought
four boxes while I was in Rehoboth and felt great when I opened the
box and saw the familiar tube shape of the taffy." Charles V.
"When we visited Atlantic City, my sister and I always tried our best to equally divide the Salt Water Taffy flavors…We always fought
over the Teaberry and we still do! I have lived in 3 states and visited many more, I always try the taffy wherever I go. The ending
is predictable, Fralinger's is the best! " Brenda B.
Joe and Florence League met in 1951 at the Tennessee Ave. Fralinger's Original Salt Water Taffy store and have been "stuck on each other" ever since. Read this wonderful story about their special 50th wedding anniversary and Atlantic City memories.

“When I was five years old, I received a special gift, a Barrel Bank, from my grandmother [58 years ago].
She would visit one of her sons , who lived in Atlantic City and would always bring me candy when she would come back.
This one day she brought back a Barrel Bank filled with James’ Salt Water Taffy. It was a gift I treasured all my life…..
Now my grown children and all eight of my grandchildren eat James’ Salt Water Taffy.”

“I used to come to Atlantic City
every year as a little girl to see the Miss America Pageant. I always loved to buy your Salt Water Taffy
when I visited. Now I have a little girl
of my own – well, she is 19 year’s old! She was in Atlantic City
for a friend’s birthday recently and brought me a box of Salt Water Taffy. I had forgotten how wonderful it is…. Thank
you for making a delicious candy for so long and bringing back wonderful
memories for me.” Charlotte M.
“I just returned from a trip to Atlantic
City. I saw
your company profiled on The Food Network and the story about how you are the
originators of Salt Water Taffy. I said
to myself ‘I have to find that store when I am in A.C.’ So when I was there, I
took a walk down the boardwalk and there you were! All of your flavors are so good…. Don’t ever change your recipe.” Joan
